I cried during this scene all three times I went to watch the movie. And I believe part of that is because of the awesome score. Yes, it might have been a bit overused in some areas of the movie, but I still thought it fit well.Michael Giacchino
“Labor Of Love”
Star Trek (2009)From the scene where George Kirk sets the U.S.S. Kelvin for a collision course with Nero’s ship, and in the span of a minute or so picks a name out for his son - Jim - and tells his wife Winona that he loves her. Truly one of the most heartbreaking scenes from the entire Trek oeuvre.

This was a brilliant scene, and the track worked wonderfully — just the right mix of poignancy and triumph.
